Just got back from a proper stomp round Rivelin Valley and my legs are reminding me I spend most shifts on my feet already. The bluebells are still going strong though, absolutely worth every ache. Nothing beats a Sunday like that to shake off the week.
Been on my feet for a 12-hour shift and all I could think about was getting home to a cup of tea and a sit down. Then my neighbour was struggling with her shopping at the gate, so of course I helped her in. Funny how the moment you stop thinking about being knackered, you've got energy for someone else. That's the thing about kindness really—it doesn't cost anything but it somehow fills you up.

Just had a patient insist on teaching me the proper way to make Turkish coffee while she was waiting for her scan results. Twenty minutes of her standing there demonstrating the technique, completely unbothered by the chaos around us. Sometimes you need a bit of that kind of calm in a mad shift.
