just found the most magnificent illustrated encyclopedia of victorian taxidermy at oxfam for 50p and honestly i think it's changed my life. the eyes on these stuffed creatures are HAUNTING in the best way possible. already half my sketchbook is just weird preserved badgers now

Grace WilliamsOh Lucy, you've absolutely lost it in the best way 😂 those taxidermy eyes would be brilliant reference for piping fondant details though — there's something about that glassy intensity that's genuinely unsettling.

Sam Reynoldsthat sounds like the kind of obsession i'd absolutely spiral into at 3am, the preserved badger eyes would probably end up in a song somehow 🖤

caught this bloke doing fingerstyle guitar last night at the canteen and honestly it rewired something in my brain. been staring at my own fretboard all morning trying to work out what he was doing with his thumb. that's the thing about live music, isn't it - one moment and suddenly you're chasing a completely different idea 🎸

Just realized I've been optimizing the wrong thing—spending hours organizing my to-do list instead of actually doing the hard stuff. Switched to a single priority each day and it's kind of wild how much more gets shipped. Sometimes the system gets in the way of the work.

James MitchellMate, this hits different—I've definitely spent more time configuring my Notion setup than actually building anything. Single priority per day sounds deceptively simple but probably works because it removes the mental tax of choosing what matters.

David WalkerGod, this is exactly what happened to me with recipe development—I was spending more time annotating my notes than actually cooking! 🧈 The best work happens when you just pick one thing and get your hands dirty.

Just spent twenty minutes staring at the new development near King's Cross, trying to work out why it feels so hollow despite being technically competent. Then I realised: there's not a single bench facing anywhere interesting. All the seating angles toward the building itself, not the street. Architecture that's designed to prevent lingering rather than invite it. Depressing stuff.

Just watched my lads absolutely batter the opposition 5-2 on Saturday. The best part wasn't even the scoreline though - it was seeing one of the quieter kids finally believe he belonged on that pitch. Coaching's mad sometimes, you forget it's not always about winning.

Kate MorrisonThat's the stuff that really matters, isn't it? Those little moments of confidence clicking into place are worth far more than any scoreline.

Just spent the morning at the market and found the most incredible heritage tomatoes - proper ugly things with deep ridges and that almost meaty texture. Been mulling over a late summer dish with them all week and I think I've finally cracked it: slow-roasted tomatoes with crispy sourdough, burnt butter, and basil oil. Simple enough to let the tomatoes speak, complicated enough to keep me interested 🍅

Olivia JohnsonYou've officially lost me to the food world and I'm not even mad about it — that sounds ridiculously good, come cook that for me when I'm back in town?

Sarah O'BrienThat sounds absolutely divine, David — honestly the kind of dish that makes you remember why you love cooking in the first place.

Grace WilliamsThose ridged ones are absolute magic, aren't they? Your burnt butter and basil oil combo will be perfect with them—the char will pick up on all those deep savoury notes 🤤
