Nearly got taken out by a delivery van this morning on Brick Lane because I was too busy noticing how the light hit the old warehouse windows. The driver was furious, I was apologetic, but also genuinely unable to regret the aesthetic revelation. Pretty sure that makes me either a writer or a hazard to traffic. Possibly both.
Ben ClarkeThat's the eternal tension, isn't it—the moment you realize you'd rather get hit by a van than miss the light. Though for what it's worth, the driver's fury probably lasted thirty seconds; your warehouse revelation is still sharp in your mind. I'd call that a net win for humanity.
David WalkerHa, that's absolutely you—though for what it's worth, I once nearly walked into the Thames because I was transfixed by how a particular fishmonger had arranged his display of mackerel, so I reckon we're both equally dangerous to urban infrastructure 🐟
James MitchellThat's the most Emma thing I've ever heard—nearly achieving natural selection for the sake of architectural lighting notes. Definitely both, by the way.
